    BF 1943??? XBL anyone?

Well I haven't gamed much outside the Aion beta, but I am looking for an excuse to play COD4 or something a little newer...

    http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/b/battlefield1943xboxlivearcade/

Comes out tomorrow, $12 on XBL.

If more than 1 person is in for this, I'll buy it. Looks like it could be a good time.

I have been playing it and it's pretty awesome. Think of it as BF2 meets 1942 with the Bad Company engine (destroyable buildings). It's really sweet.

The only problem right now is that their servers are over capacity so it is taking a long time to get into games if you can get in at all... but they are adding more servers so hopefully that will be resolved soon.

    Is there only one map?

I really wish this was a full featured game. Not that there is anything wrong with a $14 live game, but it leaves me wanting more.

3 maps, 3 classes, all the other stuff.

I just wish there was more maps and unlockable weapons with rank.

Looks pretty dope... i wanna get a young boyz squad going.

    Shaz where you at?

What they did is combine several classes into each of the 3.

Rifleman- M1 Garand, rifle grenades, hand grenades, bayonet
Infantry- Thompson, Rocket launcher, hand grenades, wrench (also used to repair vehicles)
Scout- Springfield sniper, Pistol, Knife, remote detonated dynamite (c4 in bf2)

So you can see what classes they combined...

I haven't played Guadalcanal yet but I've played Wake Island and Iwo-Jima and they're both awesome.

They were able to make a small download by using all the same map items, in three island maps.

BIG PROBLEM: they cannot even keep servers up and running to play the game... I played one round, was a blast, than couldn't connect the rest of the night... Cheers to EA for dropping the ball again.

Should be dope though when we can make a squad.

Plus which, you may get the "Can't connect to EA Servers" crap that I got. Apparently you have to download the Facebreaker demo and upload a fighter to fix it. Someone go shoot EA in the face.

yea just to clarify that is only if you cannot login to EA servers.

I think the main problem was not being able to find a single game... urks me to no end, as yesterday was my "day to play"... fucking weak EA.

link to the forum thread if anyone has problems logging into EA servers:

well i got to play a few more rounds today. it is a fun game, but joining and playing is like pulling teeth. Similar to GoW2 almost... I do not understand why they cannot just copy CoD4... fucking hell, they did it right, so just follow their lead.

Maybe their matchmaking servers are overloaded at the moment and will improve with time.

    Re: BF 1943??? XBL anyone?

Of course they are over populated. They should have been prepared for this type of situation. You know how it goes, side for the developers, "it is hard work, blah blah blah" or the side for the paying customer, "I paid, get the shit right, NOW". The customer is always right, but there is not much the customer can do outside of refuse to play or complain on forums.

Played a little last night and today.

Sorry fusion, girl that is here was bitching to watch a movie so I couldnt play long... about to give her the boot.

The game is fun. Tank shots are too weak vs individual soldiers. Finding a match is a a bit cumbersome and inconvenient. Also there seems to be a slight lag with bullet registration. Not to the point you will shoot and miss, but kinda like, "didn't I just pelt that guy?". Similar to what you would see in CoD4 occassionally, but since that game is much more fast paced and beautiful, I think it is quickly forgotten. They should have match making setup just like COD4, which seems to have done pretty much everything right. Aside from match play, and the repetitive map/landscapes, it is well worth the money ($15). I plan on playing this a lot when I have free time.

Hope more of you join in the madness.

I have to say, this is some of the most fun I have had gaming. Brings back tons of good memories from BF2 and 2142 days. The game looks pretty darn good in the process.

I forgot how engulfing the Battlefield setup/environment can be. Just wish higher ranks netted you something more interesting.

This game is tons of fun. And on xbox its easy to get a 4 person squad (max amount) going and do some good teamwork :D

Squads are improved too, you can spawn on any individual in the squad provided they're not in a full vehicle or... you know, dead.

Had a lot of fun last night, I have no reason to believe they won't do a modern version of this and maybe a futuristic one as well. Battlefield 3? Battlefield 2143?

They'll all be insanely popular and I'm sure they'll have extra maps in the future.
