Looking good. Though you should post the HD version by default, I know the noobs around here won't click the HD button.

I'll even consider playing on a PC, now that I have my kick ass basement ready to go.

The specs for PC version would require me to upgrade and I will not have the money for that by launch date... so I'm going with 360 version. After playing PS3 beta this game is meant to be played on a huge screen.

Also, BF2 point style unlocks are back, but you need LOTS of points to unlock the higher stuff. To get most stuff unlocked it will take a long, long time.

I have no idea what you talking about because my work blocks youtube videos. But what is it? Battlefield 2142 version 2.0? Is everyone getting it for xbox or PC? Is launch date soon?

Nah, it's like BF2 with Frostbite engine (aka BF2 2.0).

I'd wager we're all probably going to get it for 360.

And launch date is March 2, 2010... or 3-2-10 (hurrrrr)

Unfortunately the A10 is an airstrike type thing... you have to call it in. I don't think there is actually plane flying in BFBC2, but there is definitely helicopter flying.

Same here, me flying and karanji gunning was lots of fun too. He's an ace with the guided missile.

Also, I'm kinda glad there isn't plane flying in BFBC2, because people would just hog the planes like they did in BF2... and there'd also be the people who stay in the plane all round because that's all they do.

well the plane when mastered... is the most lethal overpowered vehicle on the map. I think haing choppers works best. Although the aerial battles in BF 1943 happening while you are fighting on the ground, was a sight to behold.

The problem is if there is alot of plane/heli/vechile driving and flying nothign compares to a mouse and keyboard, it shoudl be interesting to see how using a helicopter when your actually flying it (unlike MW2) reacts to the zbox controller. I remember flyign the heli's in BF2142 on mouse and keyboard required some very drastic mouse movements. I remember a few occasions when i was trying not to crash that i moved my whole arm and almost knocked my monitor off my desk.

Ohh the things we do for a couple frags.

nah dude the trigger on the zbox controller and analog sticks DESTROYS the mouse and keyboard for vehicle operation. Try BF 1943 on zbox live, if you can get a demo. It is a blast and very intuitive.

ALSO bombay I was always the gunner, we switched, but my missles were instinct guided LOL. I remember shooting into nothingness and waiting for the enemy to clip into view and taking them down. Man I miss BF2 those were some fun times.

BF2142 was badass as well, but I was deep into that game... makes it less enjoyable at times. But winning and running our own community was dope. I think we can all remember the 8-0 startup we had in OGL lol. Those were solid fukin wins too, with the odds against us.

I didnt like the jet in bf 2142. I was decent with it, but it felt clunky... in a good way, making it hard to learn.

I 100% agree with you about 1943's plane dogfighting. BUT it worked in that game because the planes were slow and they were very easy to take out if you were at all prepared.

I think it wouldn't fly (no pun intended) if they put modern planes in BFBC2 that were slow to maneuver. Otherwise they'd be way overpowered. Besides, the way they have implemented planes in BFBC2 via the airstrike type things makes a hell of a lot more sense if you ask me. Real A10s do strafing runs as they are portrayed in the game.. they don't fly around constantly and loop back and forth.

I know it's not all about realism but those planes cost many millions of dollars each (the F35B/JSF costs $122million/plane) and they don't want to lose them to jackasses ramming them into the ground, so I think it makes sense.

Yeah I wasn't saying it's supposed to be realistic. But even from a realistic point of view it still makes sense. That's all I meant.
