Re: FF 14 for ps3 only? PC and PS3, I think I'll get it for the PS3 though this time around... Wont have to deal with frozen computers, Vista crashes, reboots, and a million other problems that plagued me during FFXI.. And it looks to be a direct sequel of sorts, I saw Galka, Humans, Elves... No Mithra I don't think. This game is going to be siiiiiick, I hope they tone down the difficulty a bit. It's going to be exactly the same as FFXI I bet, just upgraded everything.
Re: FF 14 for ps3 only? by the way I had a dream about this game last night hahaha... all the races were jacked and so were the jobs, but it was fun. i wasn't playing it, I was living it in the dream.... Anyway, i cant wait... i'd rather play this than D3 even, I have complete faith in square in their online FF games... FFXI still to this day is the best MMO ever, even over WoW, it just has a retarded learning curve and difficulty. Never had more fun playing a game than FFXI

Re: FF 14 for ps3 only? Definitely. Playing that game is something you guys might not ever get or appreciate, but it was a really amazing game and experience (and how me and Karanji met). I don't know if I'd have to the time now that I did back then to play, so I'm hoping they'd tone down everything a bit... Leveling required not only finding the "perfect party", the "perfect camp", and the need that everyone be able to play and camp for hours on end without having to leave... If someone had to go, you'd need to try to find someone else of that exact job available, and they'd need to come from the other end of the world to come camp with you... Which could take like 20-30m, and require the whole party to go back like 2 zones to escort them to where you were camping, because it doesn't matter if you are level 75 you still can't kill anything at all alone. I think thats what made it so fun though is by having to play like that it was a really friendly atmosphere and felt more like a real world and community. Everyone knew everyone, there was gossip and rumors and people had enemies, there was Japanese people running all over... met lots of cool people, and having to play for such a long time together in one spot is really kind of ilke camping.. Sitting around, talking, having fun. There was always a real sense of teamwork. Haha I could go on forever. Anyway i cant wait for 14 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/991/991483p1.html talks about the changes they are making to 14... sounds interesting.
Re: FF 14 for ps3 only? Oh I am really stoked. Just wondering how much a PS3 will be at that time, or might just update my PC by than. TIme is my main concern. Doubt I will have much free time in the upcomings months, if things go my way. Yea FFXI was... amazing. The game was ridiculously hard, and required ultimate teamwork for like ANYTHING. The most fun was HCNM/NM, no instances, you had to camp notorious monsters to get crazy stuff. I never was a beast at the game, but damned if I didn't have a shit ton of fun. Man I remember waking up at the ass crack of dawn to do Dynamis runs... OH and the story line was awesome. If they do this right, it could be a really amazing MMO. I have no doubt the control and story and what not will be dope... just the challenge and playability in small groups needs to be updated... I have high hopes, but still think D3 will smash this in my book. I will buy both though. Definitely not going elf... probabaly hume or magic user class. OH and can you say Playonline. I loved this logon system, it felt so advance, and japanese, and was so just all around cool.

Oh exploration in this game was nuts, you couldnt just ride to a corner to see what was there, each steps could bring an enemy with it, so you had to tread carefully or in a group... Do ou remember the gateway to the gods realm jordan? That was one of the coolest environments and zones ever... I could list a lot of improvements the game needs, but overall it was pretty fukin dope... wish I could play it now, because I would.

OH skill chains and combo's in groups were absolutely awesome... being able to link a special attack with another one, and than another one, etc etc.... and inbetween each combo there is a dope explosion and magic users have to cast the right affinity magic with the proper timing to do mega huge damage... OH dying and losing XP sucked though, level sucked, but it made the game what it is I suppose. OH I guarentee in the new game you do not level per se. You pick a job and a weapon, and the weapon skill up opens up new abilities within that job/class with that type of weapon. Like a Fighter who uses a sword and shield might end up a paladin. If he uses a 2h sword a warrior, a scythe = a dark knight. Really the job system and class structure was so indepth and cool within FFxi. Most parties could work if you had heals/tank/damage but some combo's were just beast.
