The best way to learn to play this game best is to play every hero to understand exactly what they do and what to look out for when playing against them. Like what they do to affect combat, cooldowns on those abilities, and the power of neutrals/spawntimes/map awareness.

I might be gone all weekend to mammoth for snowboarding. but i can supply my login information if anyone wants to try out more heroes on my account. Just dont say anything stupid to my friends lol.

I feel like writing up some stuff that should really help you guys now that yall seem to be getting the basics.

DONT STAND STILL: this is a basic rule to this game lol. standing still gets you skill shoted (ashe arrow, cryophoenix orbed, karthas sploded, etc). Skill shots are some of the best spells in the game, they are becuase they are avoidable, you just have to be on your toes and know what heroes are gona do what to rape you.

Brush does not mean your invulnerable: just because your in the brush does not mean you cant be hit/grabbed/stunned. There are plenty of skill shots in this game that can blindly shoot into the brush. This basically means dont be at the furthest point of the brush as that is likely where they are going to shoot at.

Boots: movement speed is so key in this game, it helps you live more cause you can out run people, or when chasing you can catch people, as well as the faster you move the quicker you can get to creeps/ganks which directly means moving faster gets you more gold/xp. Boots should be the second if not first thing you buy once you have some gold. The more key thing is to decide which boots fit you best, dont always just buy the suggested. Like on twitch i buy the movent 5 speed boots to get places faster. But on pirate i want swiftness to move faster in combat, most tanks should buy these. Then again on most casters i usually get mercury treads as it weakens snares/stuns which means you survive more.

Move and shoot: this tactic is a bit more advanced than the rest and takes quiet a bit of learning and constant practice to get and use correctly but once learned its key and is mostly a ranged tactic but still usable by a mele if you have a slow skill. Basically you need to move every time your not shooting you move. say your atk speed is 1.65, you shoot as soon as you hear your weapon fire you should already be click ahead of you to stay with your target, as most of the game most heroes are going to move at about the same speed(obv there are going to be exceptions based on certain items).

Juking: this is an easy one that will save you alot. Basically its just moving in and out of the brush as going the brush clears targets on you from mobs and heroes alike. Especially when being chased moving into and out of the brush will buy you a second of time before they click on you again, but for a second their hero just stops moving cause it has no command.

Map Awareness: calling mias is helpful but each player at all times should know where all enemy is. Clairvoyance/wards are so key in higher play nowing when ganks are coming is huge. Cause nothing hurts a team more than a failed gank, cause a single member of our teaming back up and missing on alittle xp/gold is worth so more than just 3 fold the xp/gold of their members not creeping trying to kill you and not getting anything. Specifically warding both sides of the river at baron/dragon alows you to know when they are doing both so you can gank/steal the kill as well as know when they have a gank or backup coming.

Neutrals: they are amazing learn to use them, they used to spawn with every other creep at the start of the game they dont do that any more cause they were to powerful at lvl 1. Neutrals are key and in higher level play controling golem/lizard/dragon usually means the game because of the advantage in lvl/gold/buffs just tilts the table.

    Re: League of Legends

nice write up Lycan. I have been thinking about righting up some basics as well, but this covers a lot of what a person needs to master to SURVIVE (not be good) in this game. It is tough, but I like it because it is.

    Thanks,
    PC
