Further proof that Activision has turned into the Devil. They march into their most successful developer and forcibly remove two of the guys who ran shop when their biggest hit EVER was released. All of this for "insubordination." Right.

That sucks, but hopefully this leads to a new studio that makes FPShooters similar to COD but with different themes. Would love an updated BF 2142~!!!

He is right, the game is pretty ill. Not taking anythign away from MW2 but both BFBC2 and MW2 are great games. Yes they both have flaws but MW2 is your classic run and gun, while BFBC2 is by far the most realistic game of this genre I have ever played.

The weapon specializations and class are so much fun. Not to mention the UAV that has laser guided missles and 2 mini guns....

I was in the Blackhawk last night and nothign is better then melting the barrel of the mini gun and racking up kills.

Picked up bc2 and this is what I've found,
tis fun in a group (like most things)
different guns feel awkward- there are good ones that only get used and the plethera of others rot, custmization is weak- several options but non that change much outside vehical buffs
eye for an eye kills are nice- better to make both die when it's a tie on the quick draw (best when you sneak in the knife kill)
knifing is tricky- after commando I like seeing people work for their humiliations
sucks that there is no carry over on the success of a defending team if they lose their bases after bring the atackers to a very low number of tickets

overall it's what I thought it would be, a good change of pace and a foil to mw2
    no more, no less

I'll let you reserve judgement til colin answers, but personally I feel like the movement/shooting is much smoother than BF1942/2/2142.

The maps are smaller than bf2 And are more thinly laid out meaning a battle front can made to control your half of the map (no iwo jima runaround) I like that espcially with the bulding destruction (particaleffects add lots of cover)
shooting feels very different compared to mw2 yet it is oddly easier and harder
it dosnt feel like a mouse would be easier than controller
o and head shots are easier to come by when snipeing which is nice when playing non-hardcore

I think the gameplay is much tighter that mw2. There's definitely a learning curve when you first drop in, but it's a rewarding arc and you really do get better just by playing.

The maps are smaller, but I think they're some of the best designed maps I've ever played. The geography is distinct and clear, it's easy to get oriented and yet each location has depth and nuance to explore. In my mind, they nailed level design pretty much dead-on.
