    Waiting on MW2

I'm going to hold off on getting MW2 on release day.

    Several reasons:
    - Not happy with IW being jackasses.
    - No incentives to pre-order
    - Game won't function for a week or two anyway (too many people)
    - L4D2, which comes out a week later (don't feel like spending $120 in a week).

I'll probably get it eventually, just not in a rush. I didn't get CoD4 right away either, it was dirt cheap around Christmas ($35), so I'm gonna wait til then.

Not that you guys care, but just letting you know.

    Re: Waiting on MW2

we do care brian... i mean brendan.

But your reasons lack any and all support. Sounds like you just want to be different and are too stubborn to just buy te zbox version and be done with it.

IW has had this release date for quite some time, not sure how they are jackasses. Te reviews of the game are excellent so far.

Multiple stores are running deals on preorder - amazon and walmart have a $20 e-gift card deal. Depending on the version you get, you can get night vision goggles... that is maybe the coolest add in I have ever seen in a collectors addition.

I cant predict whether the game will function, but odds are it will be up and running smooth from day 1 or 2.... not like bf1943. IW realizes this needs to function, plus zbox is providing them added support.

CoD4 MW did not go down in price for almost 1.5 years.... it stayed at $60.. i know i checked often for my brother.

L4D2 is your real reason for holding off, that and you want to be different. Sad was hoping to play with you but have fun scratch dem nuts

    Re: Waiting on MW2

Few things to clarify about what i said:

About IW being jackasses -- this is mainly in regards to the PC version which I know you guys don't give a crap about anymore, but it sets a precedent which a lot of people think is negative. No dedicated servers for MW2 on PC means they are alienating any sense of community. Remember playing BF2 in the same server all the time? Wisconsin Death Trip.

I know that sort of experience isn't expected on a console (and why I will eventually buy MW2 for the console), but to remove that from the PC version? Retarded and a huge dick move. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is going to have dedicated servers. On all platforms.

So tell me why Infinity Ward thinks they should cater to the casual gamer audience by putting in some shitty matchmaking on the PC version (remember, this isn't xbox live matchmaking)?

About MW2 'working'-- 2 Million people pre-ordered this game. That breaks all records for a first person shooter, and maybe all video games ever. Xbox live is going to crash. There is no way around that. It has crashed in the past under less stress.

About waiting on price-- I got CoD4 at Best Buy a few days after Christmas the year it was released for $34.99. I didn't have to pay sales tax because I was in New Hampshire, but I'm pretty sure that was the national price at the time. I'm not counting on it, but it's likely to happen for lots of games.

About L4D2-- I don't know where you guys have been (aside from when I get a brief session of 1943 in with karanj and the other night with Mark) but I've actually been playing games this whole time, and L4D has given me some of the best gaming in recent memory.

Versus mode is intense and has solicited from me both the most triumph and frustration. I'm still not sure why you guys don't want to try the game. L4D versus requires teamwork on a level Call of Duty will never see, and that's why it's so goddamn fun.

It's like the good old days of BF2 and 2142 when we hopped on every night for some gaming. And on that note, seriously, what has happened to you guys? Do you even know why you're getting MW2? Is it because everyone else is? Cause that's a pretty dumb reason. I'd play any piece of shit game as long as you guys were right there alongside me, but I don't get the vibe that's going to happen with MW2. So instead I'll play with the people I've been playing games with for the past year or so, which, unfortunately, isn't this bunch.

Oh, and my nuts itch. Thanks for reminding me Karanji.

You're going to wait a year to save $10? Or are you trying to stick it to IW for 10 bucks?

Or are you waiting 3 months on the assumption that it won't be stable on release? And then you buy it for full retail, minus the pre order savings.
And if it is stable, then what? You loose again.

    There are no pre-order savings? The $5 you put down doesn't mean the game is $54.99. It's still $59.99. $5+$54.99 = $59.99.

    Re: Waiting on MW2

amazon and walmart have 20 e-card for pre-order. Read

Zbox is not the casual gamer, there will always be more hardcore players on consoles than PC. Anyways, not having servers saves people money. I found plenty of cool people in MW 1 and uess wat you can group with them whenever you want. MW1 ran smooth as silk using this method, which sits perfectly well with me.

You finding cod4 for $35 the same year it was released was dumb luck, or they mistagged the item. The game ran $60 up until last year.

Assuming the game doesnt work online... MW2 has two different single player modes... which you would probably play on the PC version first as well.

L4D requiring more teamwork... lol I am sure they both require the same amount of team play, which is typical of any fps played competively. Camp the right spot, perfect your weapon/ability, sit and wait and strike first.

As for why we are getting this... well it may be because it is the biggest game released this year. Maybe because the track record of CoD has been fantastic.. maybe because CoD4 was probably the best game I played on Zbox, and still play it to this day... You are right i buy games because it is the popular thing to do *sarcasm*... Let me reiterate: You are doing this to stand out, and bombay is right you loose anyway you look at it.

Also, why keep this site up if we are not the gamers you want to play with? I wouldn't expoect anything from anyone with that attitude.

Finally, I rarely see you stay online on zbox for more than an hour at a time... so not playing more than 2 maps in a game is not really playing.

I am going to create a movement where we stop calling it an xbox and call it a zbox... i think it sounds better. you are the only person who questioned it. I think jordan and I got on this kick.. I am just supporting it!

Shows how little you know about L4D VS. It's not like a regular FPS multiplayer. You can't say otherwise cause you don't play it. Don't even try.

Second, you're right. I LOSE (not loose, old jap pussies are loose) $60.

I'm not doing this to stand out. You're just mad.

Could care less, just wanted to point out your reasons are completely unjustified, and felt the need to point out why you "truly" are not playing.

I guilded/legioned with a sponsored L4D team who talked about the multiplayer. Regardless, L4D sucks the scrotum of MW2.

Lame attempt at an argument since you don't even play the single player in the game you so lovingly defend.

Also, really? Zombies. It's pretty self explanatory.

Moved it to my already existing L4D2 pre-order, their receipts are a little confusing.

    Nice to have you back!
